How to use

Where do these motorhome tyre pressures come from?

From published manufacturer tables, not guesses. See Sources we use for the tables we cover today. If your size, brand or load index is not listed, the tool refuses a number.

Which brands do you have tables for?

Today: Continental / General (listed LT, C and camping CP sizes) and Michelin (Agilis CrossClimate C and LT, plus CrossClimate Camping CP where we have a matching camping row). If your size or brand is not listed, this page refuses a number.

Why don’t you use a US lb/PSI chart or a generic van-tyre formula?

Those do not match the published tables for the tyre you fitted. This page reads the manufacturer table for that size and load index. It will not invent a pressure from a US chart or a one-size-fits-all formula.

Motorhome tyre pressure — cold or hot?

Use the cold figures. Cold means the van has been parked for a few hours, not just off a motorway. Do not let air out of a hot tyre to match this page.

Why isn’t my door-sticker pressure right for new tyres?

The sticker inside the driver’s door matches the original factory size. A different size needs a pressure from that tyre’s published table at your axle weights.

What if the tyre cannot carry the axle weight?

This page shows a fail and will not suggest a pressure if the axle weight is over the last published step. Fit a higher-capacity tyre, or lose weight.

What does CP mean on a motorhome tyre?

CP is a camping / motorhome tyre — not a plain C van tyre. On a rear axle with two tyres we never show less than 5.5 bar, even if the table step is lower. Front stays on the table.

What does the load index 120/117 mean?

Those numbers on the sidewall are load indexes. The first figure is for two tyres on the axle. The second is only for dual wheels (four tyres). We will not silently use a different number.

Is this a substitute for a tyre fitter?

No. Planning estimate only. Confirm with the tyre maker’s published chart and a fitter. If the size is outside the tables on this page, it refuses to invent a number.

How does this sit with the payload calculator?

Use the payload calculator for MAM and kit. Use this page once you know (or estimate) axle weights and have fitted a different tyre. For axle weights: a public weighbridge is best; the Payload calculator is an estimate; the VIN plate often shows axle maximums, not today’s weight. Do not use the V5 for front and rear axle weights.
